Tonight's will be the last regular blog update as today Luke http://crazyluke.livejournal.com/ finished his exams (many congratulations to him). I spent the morning and early afternoon preparing my disco show In the Groove, coming to cur1350 on Friday 12 - 2pm. Then I went to meet Luke out of his exams at the Sidgwick Site; the home of most of the Cambridge faculties - but not education, hence why I had to ask Luke how to spell it just now. Some Bucks Fizz outside the exam hall and some Pimms in Spoons later, it was time to come back home for a half-price curry. Then we've just been chilling since then.
This blogging process has proved to be enlightening, and I hope has raised the accountability and quality of the revision and exam months. I draw this to a close with the message that I will blog as and when there is something interesting enough to say. I bid all who read a temporary farewell, and wish you the very best of health and happiness in the meantime. I await my results (allegedly out on the 20th June) with a mixture of excitement and trepidation, and hope that I can continue to hold off from the chocolate, and make sure I sleep at least a few hours a night until then.
Until next time,

"I like a good garden party... in rain or sunshine, I like a nice bbq"
In the immortal words of various ASDA employees from that advert on TV at the moment, as I type, plans are well underway for the residents of number 71 to have a barbecue tonight. I bought some sausages earlier which I'm looking forward to burning on the outside whilst leaving the middle totally raw. Maybe with the girls' help, this fate will be avoided... but then would it be a real bbq without these factors? I'm not sure, but then again, I don't want food poisoning.
I have spent the day preparing radio material for The Great North/South Divide, coming to cur1350 on Tuesday 2nd June from 2 - 4, and for Tobias and Gary Go All Out, coming to cur1350 on Wednesday 3rd June from 2 - 4. It's been great fun preparing for those, and the lovely weather has more it more of a pleasure.
Tonight, we're "going out", which promises to be fun, although with all this radio ahead (and similar nights out planned for later in the week), I must be careful not to try to shout to make myself heard over the music. Silence awaits.
Until tomorrow,
T x
PS - Check out Luke's http://crazyluke.livejournal.com/ blog to see if he's updated it since Friday (although, admittedly, it's fair that exams should come first).

The accident
So we were watching the final of Britain's Got Talent (which I need to go back to see the results of in a minute, so I'll keep this brief), and Scott Bruton kindly offered me some chocolate. Thinking nothing of it, I accepted and savagely destroyed my attempt at not eating chocolate for a calendar month, in just three bitter-sweet days. Total accident, but hopefully, this is just a small set-back. BGT has been excellent tonight. I really want Diversity to win, and have already decided that if SuBo wins, I'll have to have a gin to calm down. I like deciding things like that.
Today, I finally finished going through the Now albums, had a pub lunch with the Geeze to talk about The Great North/South Divide, coming to cur1350 soon, and then fell asleep in front of the second half of the FA Cup Final. This is why I don't normally drink at lunchtime...
Luke's http://crazyluke.livejournal.com/ not here tonight, as he's back at home celebrating his sister's engagement (congratulations again).

Nihilism
As Luke http://crazyluke.livejournal.com/ points out, I technically have nothing to do, but things never work lout ike that. I didn't do an awful lot this morning (hence the reference to nihilism), but I've been busy since then. After lunch, I worked on my Now audio task (which will probably keep me busy for another couple of days), before heading into the HUS to prepare for the HUStings we had tonight for the Vice President External position.
We got back from the meeting just in time for Britain's Got Talent, which I'm watching as I type. A few minutes ago, ten year old Holly Steel broke down in tears live on stage because of nerves/pressure. Ant and Dec handled the whole thing with their usual professional brilliance, and Simon Cowell over-ruled producers to allow her to sing again. Oh how I love live television, but it does raise ethical questions about allowing children to enter the competition. We await this second performance in a moment.
Tomorrow, I'm meeting the Geeze (aka Matt Bulmer) for a pub lunch to discuss a forthcoming radio project we hope to do soon. Life is good.

Another two join the club
Today we welcomed Dirvy and Lauren into the post-exam world. Congratulations to them. We're just waiting for Luke http://crazyluke.livejournal.com/ and then Scotty on the 1st and 2nd of June, and then we should be finished.
I've spent the entire day adding audio to my radio database, except for when we went to meet today's exam finishers with strawberries and sit on the lawn.
I'm looking forward to watching Britain's Got Talent tonight, especiailly amidst recent speculation that SuBo (Susan Boyle) has been outrageously foul-mouthed and aggressive.
Am returning to my audio work now for a bit, as I am trying to use every spare minute on it at the moment, to try and ensure it's done soon.

It'll be fine
That's my reassuring message for those with exams still to come. Hardly 'innovative and original, or hand-crafted' (sorry, just been watching The Apprentice) but it's true - everything always works out in the end. I can say this from the safety of the other side of the exams. The Children's Literature paper went well for me, granting me freedom at about 3:45 yesterday afternoon.
The birthday party I went to last night was fun, but all day today, I've struggled not to feel guilty for not working. Fortunately for me though, and I am grateful for this, I don't need to worry about that anymore. Three wonderful months are stretched out in front of me to make the most of, and I fully intend to. So what's planned for tomorrow?
1) Do some washing (thrilling, but necessary).
2) Go through as many Now that's what I call Music! albums as I can and enter them into my radio playout system (which is the sort of job I've been itching to do for so long, and now can take my time doing).
3) Help Lauren and Dirvy celebrate the end of their exams (thrilling, and necessary).
That'll probably get me started for now. Keep plugging away Lukey (http://crazyluke.livejournal.com/) and you'll be absolutely fine too.
Until tomorrow,
T x
PS - Day without chocolate 1 = pass (and not difficult in the slightest).

Early Anticipation
This must be the earliest blog entry - it's 09:47 and I'm getting this in well before the exam this afternoon, and then my trip back home for one night for my aunt's birthday party.
I should have said yesterday, congratulations to Aimes for finishing! Jen and I go the same way today, with Lauren and Dirvy finishing on Thursday. Luke http://crazyluke.livejournal.com/ isn't done for a bit longer than that... so we won't talk about that now.
Jen and I are surprised we're not more tripped out about the time we'll be spening from 13:30 this afternoon, for two hours and fifteen minutes (nice shorter exam, this one). I'm sat here blogging to the sounds of The Fantastic Baggys (an excellent surf-rock group who were of a standard to have definitely given the Beach Boys a run for their money for a short time in the 60s).
The plan now is to look over a few things, have a leisurely lunch, and then head off for my final date with destiny (Tobias = melodrama).
Until tomorrow when I'll be speaking to you on the other side of the exams (does that make me a Graduand?),
